Intel Menlow Powered GPS Enabled MIMD Slider UMPC

Intel Menlow Powered GPS Enabled MIMD Slider UMPC V2

Previously known as Elektrobit, EB have showcased their sleek new UMPC which not only comes with inbuilt GPS and HSDPA but is also one of the first devices to be based on Intel’s new Menlow platform – utilising the Silverthorne processor and Poulsbo chipset – which promises greatly enhanced battery performance in comparison to comparable systems.

Details are a little thin on the ground at the time of writing. However, what is known is that EB’s Linux based UMPC is tagged as being a Mobile Internet Media Device (MIMD) and is designed to be ‘pocketable’ whilst featuring an impressively proportioned 4.8 inch touchscreen LCD and a full QWERTY keyboard thanks to its slider design.

There’s also no word on pricing or expected availability at this time but, rest assured, the moment full specifications concerning the head turning EB UMPC are published we’ll be posting them right here (along, we hope, with some jaw dropping imagery).
